Texture Backgrounds

We got three different background textures tutorials. We only needed to do one of them, but I ended up doing about two of them. The first one I did was the knife marks one. I did not really like this one too much, but it was very simple to follow. I ended up putting the distressed text "Epik High" in front of the knife slashes background and it looks okay.

Next, I did the shapes background, but I made it my own. I changed the squares around in the distortion and made them into like swirls and completely made it my own! I put the words "Map The Soul" in front of the background and it looks pretty awesome :)

Font Manipulations

We started to work with font manipulations! We did like distressed font in illustrator and we got a in-class tutorial of how to use it. We started by picking a font that we liked, and a name of a shop or any store name we came up with and started to distress it. It was pretty cool because there was a lot of steps, but it was so easily re-memorable, that I did it five more times without the need of the tutorial anymore. I did not have to ask the professor for any assistance after the first time. I loved doing distressed font. I believe that I will be doing this form many times in the future!!

PowerPoint Presentation

We had to give a presentation on a topic surrounding computers. I did image sensors and their importance on computers. I talked about the different types of image sensors, what they did, where they can be found and I provided a video clip of how image sensors work. Also, I provided many different photos or image sensors and a animation of light hitting an image sensor and being transformed to an electron. I got back on my grade that I was a little too general, but I still think I provided good enough information.

Excel Tutorials

We began doing tutorials again. This time instead of powerpoint, we worked on Excel instead. I haven't used Excel a lot so I actually did learn a lot of things. Like transferring details into a Book, creating different graphs and layouts and assigning sums and totals. Also, dragging the first month over to create the other months was pretty cool too. I probably will not use Excel much for anything except budgeting, but it was cool to learn that Excel is pretty nifty.

Train Vector COMPLETE!

I finished my vector!! Wow, it was so hard to blend the various gradients on the train because there was so many different part I used to create the train that all the gradients were off. The train was a neutral, gray kind of color to reflect the silver and the sun glares are spot on! If I put the vector over on top of the actual train in the photo, it almost looks exactly like the actual train. At first glance, you could not tell it was a vector at all until you actually 'look' at it. keke i think this project was very fun! I was so close to doing a vector of a cellphone, but a train turned out to be so much fun that I dont think the cellphone would have been good enough to please me ^__^

Vector Train

I learned a new trick today!!

While I was working on my windows of my train, Mr. Speyers helped me learn how to just copy a pre-existing window and just copy it over and over instead of creating a whole new window (using the option button!). It made creating the windows so much more easier.
The train is looking great. I need to finish blending on the gradients!

Gradients and Something Shiny

During our 216, we got to work with colors and gradients to make a vector out an object. Mr. Speyers told us that shiny things would work a lot better than dull items since the gradients would help make it more realistic. I chose to do a train because everyone else seemed to be doing cars and buses. It was really hard to find a nice train that wasn't grainy and wasn't small in resolution. I found a really good train and begin to work with it! I think it's going to turn out great!

PowerPoint Tutorial

We started working on tutorials for the Microsoft programs, the first being PowerPoint. We went to a website where it had a lot of information on the program and other applications and clicked on PowerPoint tutorials. We had to follow through a good number of the available tutorials and work our way through them all. We had to save any files we created during the tutorial and send it to him through the computer so he would have proof that we did do those things. A lot of the stuff I knew pretty well in Power Point, but I learned some tricks on the way, like applying the same thing to different slides and changing the layout of each one without affecting the slide's theme.

Line Works

At the beginning of class, we started with working with lines and the pen tool in illustrator. We opened up an image that has a lot of defined straight lines and curved lines and made three different photos, each one zooming in much closer than the previous one. I did a kitchen, so there was a lot of straight lines. However, there was soo many lines, it took forever. It felt like I was an architect for a while, but it was okay! I think my work looks amazing :)

Lateness #1

This is extremely cutting it close to the deadline, which is like 40 minutes from now.
Well I'm just gonna start typing nonsense and other stuff in which we did.
